First-Time Configuration
Sign in and manage your session in the Optra IoT Platform Platform.
The Optra IoT Platform Platform is a web-based application used to access your organization's connected-device environment, monitor operational data, and manage account-scoped resources. Before you can work in the platform, you need the correct platform URL, a user account provisioned by your administrator, and an authentication method that matches your organization's security model.
Access to the platform is typically managed by a System Administrator or organization administrator. That administrator adds users, assigns roles, and determines whether your organization uses local authentication, Azure AD, or single sign-on. This page combines the first-time access steps with the account sign-in and session tasks you are most likely to need on day one.
Access Requirements
A provisioned user, assigned role, supported browser, and the correct platform URL.
Session Tasks
Sign in, return to the home page, recover a password when applicable, and sign out securely.
The Optra IoT Platform Platform supports both native authentication and Azure AD-based sign-in. Depending on your organization's configuration, you may enter a local password, complete single sign-on, or pass through a federated identity screen before arriving at the platform home page.
How to Sign In to the Platform
To sign in, follow the steps below.
- Open a supported web browser.
- Navigate to your Optra IoT Platform Platform URL.
- Enter your email address when prompted.
- Click
Next. - If your organization uses
Azure ADand you are not already authenticated, enter your password and complete any additional sign-in steps such as multi-factor authentication. - Wait for the platform home page to load.
If you are unable to sign in because your account is not recognized, contact your administrator or follow your organization's access request process.
Navigate After Sign-In
After authentication, the platform home page is your main starting point. From there, you can open product areas, review dashboards, and move into account-specific settings. If you need to return to the starting view from another page, use the Home icon in the upper-left area of the interface.
If your user belongs to more than one organization or account context, use the organization or account switcher available in the platform UI to move between environments.
Password Recovery
Password recovery is available only to users configured with local authentication. If your organization uses Azure AD or another federated identity provider, password resets must be completed through that identity system rather than through the platform itself.
How to Recover a Local Password
To recover your password, follow the steps below.
- Open the platform sign-in screen.
- Click
Forgot your password?. - Enter the email address associated with your platform account.
- Follow the reset instructions sent to your email.
Sign Out
To end your session, open the User Menu in the upper-right corner of the platform and select Log Out. Signing out is recommended when you are using a shared workstation or when you are finished working in the environment.
Access note: If your sign-in method is managed by Azure AD, your administrator controls account provisioning and password policy outside the platform. Local-password users can recover credentials from the platform sign-in screen.
