Enroll Device Workflow

Enrollment is handled through a multi-step modal and supports multiple enrollment methods and device classes. The flow is consistent: choose enrollment type, choose device type, provide template or serial details, and complete device metadata and location. This structure keeps registration predictable for both single-device and group-driven onboarding strategies.

Start Enrollment

For enrolling a device, follow the steps mentioned below:

1. On the Devices page, click Enroll.
2. In Enroll Device, choose an enrollment type from:
   • Individual Enrollment using Symmetric Key
   • Individual Enrollment using X.509 Certificates
   • Group Enrollment with Symmetric Key
   • Group Enrollment with X.509 Certificates
3. Click Next.

Choose Device Type

To choose device type, do the following:

1. In Choose your device type, select one:
   • IoT Device
   • Optra Edge Device
   • Gateway
2. Click the selected card to continue.

Provide Type-Specific Setup

To provide type-specific setup values, do the following:

1. For IoT Device or Gateway:
   • Choose a Device Template.
   • Unassigned is available when no template should be bound yet.
2. For Optra Edge Device:
   • Enter the edge device serial number.
3. Click Next.

Complete Device Details

To complete device details, do the following:

1. Enter Name.
2. Set Simulate device? to Yes or No.
3. Set device location using map search and pin placement.
4. Verify latitude and longitude are populated.
5. Click Save.

X.509 Certificate Step (When Applicable)

For X.509 certificate enrollment, follow the steps mentioned below:

1. For X.509 enrollment types, paste the PEM certificate in the certificate step.
2. If format is invalid, correct the certificate and retry.
3. Continue to device details and complete Save.
