ODA User Guide

Administration

Administrator controls for organizations and platform-wide members.

Since ODA is now merged into the Optra IoT Platform, administration is managed from Settings, which you can open from the profile menu at the bottom-left. In Settings, admin and account controls are intentionally separated so governance tasks are clear and role-based. The Administration section provides system-wide controls for managing organizations and platform members, accessible only to administrators.

Organizations

An Organization is the top-level governance container that represents a company, business unit, or partner/customer boundary. Organizations are the foundational unit for structuring your platform usage—they group accounts, define ownership boundaries, and control how users and environments are organized before teams start working in Data Studio.

In ODA workflows, organizations are critically important because they frame where accounts are created and which users have administrative privileges over those accounts. A well-organized structure ensures clear access control, simplifies reporting and compliance, and supports long-term platform operations as your deployment scales. Organizations can also have parent-child relationships, allowing you to model complex hierarchies that reflect your corporate structure, partnerships, or multi-tenant requirements.

Keeping organizations clean, well-named, and properly scoped helps administrators at every level understand ownership, manage permissions effectively, and maintain governance standards across the platform.

Members

The Admin > Members page gives system administrators a complete, organization-wide view of all people who can access the Optra IoT Platform. This page helps you confirm where each user belongs across organizations, which organizations they are affiliated with, what roles they hold, and which accounts they can access.

Members management is essential for maintaining security and compliance—it gives administrators visibility into who has platform access, when they joined, and their organizational context. This is particularly important in multi-tenant or multi-organization scenarios where different user groups need different access levels. Regular review of the members list ensures that only authorized users retain access and that role assignments remain appropriate for each user's responsibilities.

How to Review and Search Members

To review and search system members, follow the steps below.

  1. Open Settings > Admin > Members.
  2. Use Search system members to find a user by name or email address.
  3. Review the columns to understand each user's context:
    • User: Username and email address
    • Organization: The organization(s) the user belongs to
    • Member in: The account(s) the user can access
    • Member since: The date the user joined the platform
  4. Use Load more to continue browsing the full member list if there are many users.
  5. Click on a member row to view detailed information about that user's roles and permissions.
