Basic Navigation

The Optra IoT Platform Platform is organized so users can move quickly between operational areas without leaving the main application experience. After sign-in, the left sidebar acts as the primary starting point for device management, alert monitoring, workflows, insights, and account-aware navigation controls. The interface structure is consistent across the platform, which makes it easier to move from one feature area to another without relearning the layout each time.

The exact sections visible in your environment may vary based on your organization's license configuration and the permissions assigned to your role. A System Administrator can enable or disable certain experiences at the account level, so your view may not match every example shown in the documentation.

Platform Layout

The main platform experience is centered around the left navigation. From there, users can select the section they need and move into more detailed pages for configuration, operations, monitoring, or analysis.

Navigation is designed to remain predictable. The Home icon returns you to the platform landing page, the left-sidebar entries open the relevant product areas, and the User Menu provides profile-related actions such as settings access, account switching, and sign-out.

How to Return to the Home Page

To navigate back to the home page, follow the steps below.

1. Look to the top-left area of the interface.
2. Click the Home icon.
3. Wait for the platform home page to load.

Main Sections of the Platform

The platform home page exposes the major working areas available to your organization. In the current UI, these sections appear in the left sidebar rather than as tiles. Each section supports a distinct type of work within the broader Optra platform.

How to Open a Primary Section

To open one of the main platform sections, follow the steps below.

1. Navigate to the platform home page.
2. Look at the left sidebar and locate the section you want to use, such as Devices, Alerts, Workflows, or Insights.
3. Click the section name in the left sidebar to open its dedicated page.
4. Use the page-specific controls within that section to continue your work.

User Menu and Account Context

The User Profile area gives you access to personal and account-related actions. In the current UI, you open the user menu from the bottom-left corner by clicking the displayed user name. The menu in the screenshot includes the following options:

• Optra Accelerator Hub — opens the accelerator hub experience.
• Feedback — sends product feedback to the platform team.
• Help — opens help and support resources.
• Docs — opens the documentation area.
• Settings — opens user settings and account preferences.
• Sign out — ends the current session securely.

If you have access to more than one organization or account, the options shown in the interface help you move between them without leaving the platform. The data and features available after switching depend on the permissions granted in that selected context.

How to Open the User Menu

To access profile and account-related actions, follow the steps below.

1. Look to the bottom-left corner of the platform interface.
2. Click the displayed user name to open the User Menu.
3. Review the available options: Optra Accelerator Hub, Feedback, Help, Docs, Settings, and Sign out.

Navigation Best Practices

As you begin using the platform, it is helpful to treat the home page as your central orientation point. Move into a working area, complete the task you need, and then return to Home when you need to switch context. This approach reduces confusion, especially when your deployment contains multiple sections with different operational responsibilities.
