IoT Platform User Guide
Sidebar User Menu and Notifications
User menu, profile access, and the notification bell panel.
The lower-left user area in the sidebar is the primary personal control surface for account-level and support-level actions. Clicking the user name/avatar opens a profile menu that provides quick access to user profile information and common utility links. In the current Lexmark UI shell, this menu typically includes profile access, accelerator hub access, feedback/help/docs links, settings, and sign-out.
Adjacent to this user area, the sidebar also provides a notification bell icon. The bell opens a notification panel with unread indicators, relative timestamps, and direct links back to related platform resources. This helps operators move from alert awareness to action quickly, especially when managing devices, workflows, reports, or data jobs.

Notification Interpretation and Navigation
The notification panel is intended to reduce context-switching time by turning platform events into actionable links. Each item includes title/body context, time-relative metadata, and a source link where applicable. Depending on the event category and your permissions, selecting a notification can route you directly to a related device, workflow, report, job context, or settings resource.
- Open notifications from the bell icon.
- Identify high-priority or unread items first.
- Use the source/action link in the notification row to navigate to the relevant page.
- After review, return to the notifications panel to continue triage.
